Science Fair

Ah, yes! It's that time of year again... I remember dreading the science fair during school. It was always that last minute project that I didn't ever seem to get right! I was (and still am to some degree) a procrastinator and a dreamer. My kids, however, did a spectacular job! Both had projects that were relevant and conclusive. Check it out!
This was Quin's project about second hand smoke. The plant on the right has no new growth and the leaves are much darker. It was the one exposed to just one cigarette a day! Ick! (It still stinks terribly!)

This was Levi's project about water and sewage filters. A little harder to see his results but he put alot of thought into it and when the judge asked him to explain Mom had to leave... My son is definitely the verbose one! LOL!

And these were some that were particularly creative and visual!

After spending all day in town with mundane tasks like grocery shopping, it was refreshing to see my kids stretching their brains and thinking outside the box! Kinda re-energizes me! :)

We're Makin Hay!

Oh what a difference a day makes! Didn't see this one coming, but have to say I'm glad for it. We really need the moisture for our hayfields. The more we get now, the better the grass comes in and the more I save in mid-summer on hay costs! The last time we got a good crop, we saved over $8K! That could really help in this economy! My kids were not thrilled with having to get to school in this stuff though. Levi had lots to say about it!

Shane is on another adventure getting home... Blew one tire on the trailer, had to pull into a small garage on the way up Vail pass and something was wrong with the brake system... God is good, though... Only cost him $20! That is amazing and wonderful! I am really excited to see him home!

Well, time to Wii! Stay warm!

Gorgeous Day!

WOW! What a beautiful day it is in my part of the country! Even with having to clean stalls today, I can't get over the clear blue skies and the fresh air! I love it!

Kids helped me clean out stalls and sweep floors today. Was a nice time together, though I am sure they would've rather been watching cartoons. Bwaaaahhhaaaahhaaa! Evil Mom strikes again! (Their Dad would be proud of me!)

Shane is stuck up the mountain in the one place in the state that is getting snow... I think he is just having too much fun! This has been a very successful show for our barn and I am so very proud of all of them! From Shane to Emily to all our clients who are showing, they have all had a productive, if not victorious, show. Congrats to all!

And a special congratulations to Tina-Tina! She has had a baby!!!! Well, not her personally, but her mare, Regina! His lil name is Rocco! Isn't he just so sweet??? I tell ya, that is the best part of horses! It makes scoopin the poop not so bad after all! Enjoy the pictures she sent:

That red looking stuff is iodine... Keeps the umbilical cord from getting an infection in it.

This is his sexy pose... One leg all stretched out for the ladies! What a cutie pa-tooty!

Hope your day is as good as mine! TTFN!

Wii Fit... What a blast!

I can't even tell you how much fun we are having with this gadget! We decided to take some of the kids' Christmas money and go the full distance with our Wii purchase... We bought the Wii Fit last weekend! The plain old games that come with it are quite a challenge! I have even made it to the snowboarding game! (You have to do a progression in order to play all the games...) And I am a Yoga Master!!!! Who knew???

The funnest part? Watching my kids get active in front of the TV!
